Casual Year in Review
Over at Blog Azeroth there was a meme posted that a lot of Bloggers I read are taking part in. Never one to be left out of the crowd, how could I not repond?
What did you do in the World of Warcraft in 2009 that you'd never done before?
2009 was a strange year in terms of Guilds. So far in my WoW history, I've only been in guilds filled with friends from real life. In the past I've loved playing MMOs as long as some of my friends were playing, but when they would quit I would quit. In 2009 I joined my first Guild where I do not know a single person in real life.
What was your favorite new place that you visited?
The Argent Tournament Grounds. Watching the arena being constructed and being completely impressed after that patch hit was totally awesome.
What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
I wasn't very social with a lot of my guildmates in 2009. I think going forward I'd like to correct that.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Exalted Argent Champion of the Horde. Long grind for this one. Totally worth it.
What was your biggest failure?
I don't really see how I can fail at something that I play for fun.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Beacon of Light transferring overhealing. One of the best Holy Paladin changes this year.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Running around Dalaran spinning my camera in circles.
What was your favorite WoW blog or podcast?
Much love goes to the Twisted Nether Blogcast, however I must say that I listened more to the WoW Insider Show.
Tell us a valuable WoW lesson you learned in 2009.
I learned that the game is what you make it. There's plenty of people to group with, and plenty of guilds to join. Don't be afraid to shop around until you find one that fits your style. You don't owe your current guild anything if it's not working for you.
